artist statement
I love talking about me as a way of talking about us. I make confessional art for an audience of anyone sentimental by contrasting cozy imagery with unwieldy feelings. I often use vintage textiles and ephemera in my work in hopes that it will soften the world.
As I make my art, I spend time with and give new life to objects that have been discarded and would’ve otherwise been forgotten. Although these materials originally belonged to a singular person, I aim to use them to comfort a wider demographic.
My art explores the relationships between outdated objects and new technologies and how we relate to each of them respectively. I exist both online and in my fantasy world where everything is soft and I hope my art relays where I live and who’s inside decorating.
Sometimes I gaze so far up my navel that I almost see god. I assume he’d just tell me to keep making my tender-hearted girl art. I don’t know, I just really love love.
